http://www.foxfirepro.org/foxfirepro.org/Nu_Ten_Series.html The Nu Ten Images were originally conceptualized as a set of four triptychs, each triptych symbolizing one of the four Celestial Beasts from Feng Shui. Each of the celestial beasts is meant to equate with one of the four cardinal directions and one of the four seasons. That means each of the images should equate, at least in some metaphorical way, with one of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals (four beasts times three images per beast equals twelve).
